NOTD: China Glaze Sci-Fi

I was going to save this color for another time, didn't want to post 2 Khromes in a row, but since my nails were already buffed, I decided why not? This is another silver chrome, like Millennium, but it's definitely got a blue-lavender tint to it whereas millennium is more o a classic silver. The formula is the same as Millennium and 2030, opaque in one coat.

NOTD: China Glaze 2030

Subtle pale gold chrome, very champagne-y color. It's from the same collection as Millenium (the Khrome collection) so it has the same formula: it NEEDS perfectly smooth, buffed nails to be applied onto, and it's ok if it looks streaky while you're applying it because for the most part the streaks go away as it dries.

NOTD: China Glaze Up All Night

Super dark blue with a subtle shimmer that is barely visible. Good formula, opaque in 2 coats, nice and easy to apply.

NOTD: Sinful Colors Dream On

This is one of those pink-purple creme colors that every nail polish brand seems to have their own version of. But hey, I don't blame them, it is a very pretty, unique color, doesn't really fit in anywhere in my big rainbow of nail polish colors.
It's a jelly formula that dries matte and NEEDs a topcoat. It's a good formula, though, opaque in 3 coats, but not goopy.

NOTD: Sally Hansen HD Laser

AMAZING color! It's a dark blue sheer base with lots of tiny dark blue glass-flecks that flash purple. The formula for DVD, another color in the newer HD collection, was very goopy, but the formula on this was absolutely perfect and opaque in 3 coats, not goopy at all!
The thing that I really love about DVD, Spectrum and Laser is that they really seem to glow. Maybe it's something to do with the combination of blue and purple in one polish, but, put it this way, this polish is a HUGE distraction during midterms!
The first picture shows the texture of the polish, the second photo shows the true color, with a bit of purple flash, and the "glowing" that I mentioned, and the third photo was taken in fluorescent light, and really shows the purple flash.

NOTD: China Glaze Caribbean Blue

Glass flecked sky blue, really pretty! Good formula, this is 2 coats. I've rarely ever had a China Glaze polish with a bad formula! They're hard to see, but there are little flecks of silver glitter, not the chunky kind, the kind that's in China Glaze Strawberry Fields so that the polish is still smooth.

NOTD: China Glaze Paper Chasing

Ok, so, double post today! Somehow I was posting not the nails of the DAY, but they nails of YESTERDAY! So here you have it, the nails of today, China Glaze Paper Chasing! It's a super pretty medium green, a lot like Sally Hansen HD Hi-Def, but slightly darker and with a much better formula because it's China Glaze!
I've been taking my photos outside now because I think it looks better and captures the color truer to what it really looks like than flash does. But, this is how it looks outside, and outside it's been very overcast because it's winter. That said, the picture looks a bit like the green has a blue shimmer to it, and it doesn't. If anything it has a more yellow-ish, lime green shimmer than blue.
So, medium green, good formula, requires 3-4 coats for opacity but doesn't come out thick at all.

NOTD: Color Club Lava Lamp

I know it looks kinda red here, but this is a very bright neon orange. It has a hint of coral in it when you look at it against a regular neon orange. The formula is like any other neon, very thin and it take some building up to achieve opacity. This was 4 coats.

NOTD: China Glaze Blue Paradise

Nice, standard metallic medium blue. The Formula was good, opaque in 2 coats, but a tiny bit streaky.
On a side note, this week I won't be writing much because it's midterm week (physics tomorrow aahh!!) and I really need to focus on studying. I'll keep doing my nails of course, but the writing will be short and sweet =)
good luck to anyone else who's having midterms!

NOTD: China Glaze Strawberry Fields

This is such an interesting color! It's a really pretty red-pink with all over gold flecks. I really like that the gold isn't chunky glitter, but really tiny particles so that the nail polish is still smooth, but has a gold sheen to it. The formula was very good, opaque in 3 coats. The polish is very thin and it looked a bit goopy at first to have that many coats, but it dried to be a perfect looking thin coat.

NOTD: Color Club Revvvolution

Grey-ish black holographic polish. There is holographic glitter in this, but the holographic effect, like all other Color Club holographics, is barely visible unless you're looking at it under a very bright light. The picture below was taken in daylight with no flash an as you can see, it's a pretty and interesting color, but there's no holographic effect.

The pictures below were taken outside with flash. The holographic effect under light is very slight and much more of a scattered holographic than the china glaze ones.

NOTD: Sinful Colors Call You Later

Let me start out by saying that this color IS Saint Patrick's day in nail polish form! It's a mixture of big and small particles of gold, light green and dark green glitter. The formula is very sheer and requires I'd say 5 coats to achieve this opacity. I used a coat of Gelous and Seche top coat to make it smooth.

NOTD: China Glaze Millenium

I LOVE this polish, it's definitely one of my favorite silvers! The finish is as close to chrome as I've ever seen in a nail polish (besides those chrome fake nails). I've heard a lot of people complain about the formula and I can definitely see why. However, there's a very easy way to solve this problem! You NEED to completely smooth out any ridges or bumps on your nails, or else it will look like complete crap! I think it's completely worth it for this polish because it helps the chrome effect tremendously; a smooth surface = a more actually chrome appearance!
Also, it will look very streaky right away, but all of the brushstrokes will go away as it dries, don't worry =)

NOTD: Misa Ghetto Fabulous

Really rich, coppery gold. The formula is a little hard to work with, but that may be because I've used it so many times for christmas nail art =) nothing too bad, anyway. This is 2 coats.

NOTD: Mattese Ultra Violet

This is SUCH a cool color! It's a sort of flat magenta base with an icy-blue shimmery duochrome. The formula WAS good, but I've used it so much that it's gone kind of thick, as you can see in the picture. This polish is also a complete dupe for Color Club Ultra Violet and, ironically, they're named the exact same thing! hmm...
Also, I just noticed that I have Color Club Pure Energy and Mattese Pure Energy, which are also the exact same color and formula... weird, not sure what that's about!

NOTD: China Glaze Little Drummer Boy

I LOVE this Polish! everything about it is perfect. The color is dark blue, nearly black, with just a hint of a blue shimmer. The formula was perfectly opaque in one coat, though, you know me, I did two for good measure =)
I like this sort of a dark blue because it's a nice break from the usual dark blue that you see from every brand that's a more primary, reddish blue, lighter than this. This one leans more towards a green-blue when put next to those.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Blue Me Away

Nice medium-light blue creme. For some reason light-ish blue nail polish always seems to photograph as much lighter and brighter than it actually it in person. Nonetheless, this is still a bright color!
The formula was also fantastic! it was pretty much opaque in one coat, but I did two for good measure (either way it would have been ok =) I generally find that the formula on Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear colors is very good and opaque, but not at all thick and goopy.

NOTD: Sally Hansen HD Hi-Def

Really pretty grass green with a slightly yellow duochrome. As I said for Digital, the color is pretty, but the formula is SO sheer and becomes very thick and goopy and the topcoat seems to shrink the color away from the tip of the nail.

NOTD: Milani Juicy Glo

Super bright orange jelly. I wouldn't call it neon, because its more of a jelly than a matte and it looks very dull next to neon orange, but on its own it is very bright. The formula requires so many coats to achieve opacity and the end result was a VERY thick layer of nail polish that took forever to dry, and wasn't even completely dry when I took it off!

NOTD: Sally Hansen HD Digital

Very bright metallic hot pink with a blue-ish flash. super pretty.
The formula on the Sally Hansen HD collection is VERY sheer and because of that they require a lot of coats to become completely opaque. However, the colors are really pretty, so they're worth it =)

NOTD: China Glaze He's Going in Circles

Super pretty holographic seafoam green from the kaleidoscope collection!
just so you can see the effect... =)

NYE Nails!: Milani Gold

Happy New Year!!
Is this not the PERFECT nail polish for new years?! I absolutely love it! It's from Milani's holiday collection, Rockstar Glitters and, of course, no camera could capture the effect this has unless it was a video, it's soo sparkly!
The only downside is that because the glitter is so big, it's hard to work with on nails, but I didn't make that big of a mess. (this picture was taken right after I had done my nails)
